Is the FBI really engaged in a silent coup against the president of the United States? Recent information suggests that in the run-up to the election, and even after, forces within the FBI were actively working against the Trump campaign. But what is fact and what is fiction?
A recent hashtag campaign, #ReleasetheMemo, suggests that documents funded by the DNC and the Clinton campaign were used to obtain warrants in order to spy on candidate Trump. Coupled with missing messages over a five-month period, things are beginning to look highly suspect.
Foregone Conclusion
Late last year, two FBI officials were removed from their positions in the Robert Mueller investigation after messages were discovered showing they held a firm anti-Trump bias. Peter Strzok and Lisa Page sent messages to each other which suggest they had advance knowledge that Hilary Clinton would be exonerated (that charges would not be filed) even before she had been interviewed.
Another message released to various Congressional committees shows that Clinton had even been informed of the decision in advance:
“It’s a real profile in couragw [sic], since she knows no charges will be brought.”
Missing Messages
Around 400 pages of messages were handed over to committees by the Justice Department. But was this everything? In 1972, just 18 and a half minutes of missing tape was enough to bring down Richard Nixon in the Watergate scandal; reports suggest that the FBI has now “lost” over five months worth of messages that could have a significant impact on the Washington D.C. power hierarchy.
The missing information is text messages between Strzok and Page. They are important for many reasons, not least of which is because they cover the period leading up to the appointment of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel.
Earlier messages between the pair show the involvement of outgoing FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and other FBI top dogs in wanting to create an “insurance policy” against the possibility of President Donald Trump.
FBI Official Peter Strzok
The most curious aspect is the messages detailing a “secret society.” While many conspiracy fans may be hoping for an Illuminati style plot, the fact that senior FBI officials are having secret meetings regarding “insurance” against an elected president is more than worrying…it’s terrifying.
Investigation Afoot
Despite the lack of major coverage on this from the leftist media networks, the fact that Attorney General Jeff Sessions is working hand in hand with the Justice Department Inspector General, Michael Horowitz on an investigation into how and why the FBI managed to lose or mislay such a huge amount of important information suggests that it is being taken very seriously.
After Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding answers, Sessions put himself at the forefront of this potential scandal. In a statement he wrote:
“We will leave no stone unturned to confirm with certainty why these text messages are not now available to be produced and will use every technology available to determine whether the missing messages are recoverable from another source.”
Secrets and Lies
While the world awaits the release of the potentially damning memo, the political classes have already begun laying out their positions. Those who seek the release (and have actually read it) are saying it will be a ”bigger scandal than Watergate.” Those who wish to deny the public the opportunity to decide for themselves are already setting up “interference.”
Democrats Diane Feinstein and Adam Schiff have taken to the complicit media and announced that #ReleasetheMemo is nothing more than a plot by Russian bots.
Will the America people ever actually obtain satisfaction? Is an investigation by an organization being investigated worth the paper it’s written on (especially as that paper will no doubt disappear)? Or will we ultimately be distracted by the next “big scandal” as justice and truth once again become the sacrifices for a peaceful life?
