The leftist crowd still hasn’t learned its lesson. Even after a devastating defeat in Virginia’s elections, they are still pushing the falsehood that elements of Critical Race Theory (CRT) are not being taught in classrooms. One would think their shellacking would have prompted them to realize that parents are not buying what they are selling. Instead, however, they have decided to double down on the lie, which could cost them more than just Virginia.

Critical Race Theory Lies Debunked.

Despite what the Democrats and their close friends and allies in the activist media would have you believe, there are plenty of instances in which wokeism is being infused into the curriculum of many schools. Indeed, The Daily Caller recently published a report on an Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) administrator who torched the progressive lie that CRT is not being used in the classroom.

District Science Coordinator and Instructional Coach Tony Kinnett posted a video on Twitter of his interview with conservative podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey in which he explained how the ideology has been presented in the classroom.

“When we tell you that schools aren’t teaching Critical Race Theory (CRT), that it is nowhere in our standards, that’s misdirection,” he said. “We don’t have the quotes and theories as state standards, per se. We do have Critical Race Theory in how we teach.”

The Daily Caller reported that the district invited author Gloria Ladson-Billings who has written a series of books, including Critical Race Theory in Education: A Scholar’s Journey, to speak at its professional development event. The report explained:

“In her lecture, she told the IPS staff that there are four pandemics happening simultaneously, the COVID-19 pandemic, the coming pandemic of economic collapse, a pandemic of environmental catastrophe and a pandemic of racism.

She recommends a ‘hard reset’ in education because we ‘shouldn’t be trying to keep doing the same old things,’ but instead ‘start afresh,’ because ‘the point of the education reset is not to go back to normal.’”

During her lecture, she also stated that teachers tell her things like, “Hey I’m just teaching algebra, I don’t want to get into any of this political stuff.”

She argued that “teaching is a political act, whether you acknowledge it or not” and that “you are working towards either more democratic practices or more authoritarian ones in some way.”

In his video, Kinnett said educators are encouraged to teach students differently depending on their skin color. He noted that the nation’s problems are the result of “white men” and “that everything western civilization builds is racist, capitalism as a tool of white supremacy.”

In an interview with the Daily Caller, he explained that those lying about CRT are attempting to deflect attention by pretending it is not being taught. “It isn’t about transparency, it isn’t about cultural relevance, it’s race essentialism, painted to look like the district cares about students of color.”

Will the Left Change Course?

One would think that the left might try a different tactic since the reality that elements of CRT are being taught in classrooms has been proven time and time again. It seems reasonable that they would pivot to a different persuasion strategy.

But there is a reason they haven’t.

The bottom line is that America’s parents don’t want their kids being taught that skin color is the most important part about them. They don’t want a pedagogy that teaches minority children they are helpless victims who are unable to succeed because of the evil of “whiteness.” Parents also don’t want white children being taught that they are inherently oppressors.

Most Americans know the importance of teaching the nation’s ugly history – but they also understand the value of learning its virtues. Reasonable people can agree that all of the nation’s history should be given to students. It is for this reason that the left is destined to fail on this issue. There is no persuasion strategy that is effective enough to persuade the majority of Americans that CRT’s teachings are beneficial, so it is easier to just lie about it instead. Unfortunately for the left, it is abundantly clear that this strategy is an abject failure.
