In the span of a few days, congressional Democrats have killed even the slightest hope that they would be adult enough to work with the president on issues of mutual concern. With the Trump brouhaha with Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) showcasing intransigence on border security, another top Democrat has shown what his party stands for – and it is not the American people.
Incoming House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) on Dec. 10 promised pro-immigration activists that he would make it a top priority of the new Congress to help illegal aliens. Hoyer spoke at something called the National Immigrant Integration Conference, held in Virginia, Breitbart reports, and promised “to move legislation that would provide DREAMers with the relief they deserve and a permanent pathway to citizenship.”
Hoyer has long made known his unwavering support for illegal aliens.
This is the chief legislative priority of a leading House Democrat, not working to create job opportunities for Americans or providing tax relief to the middle class. “There are few certainties in our politics these days,” Hoyer told the audience. “But one thing that is certain is that as Majority Leader in the next Congress, I will bring legislation to the Floor that addresses our immigration challenges.”
Hoyer has long made known his unwavering support for illegal aliens. In January, he met with Maryland DREAMers and radical pro-illegal alien activist Gustavo Torres of the group CASA. “I want to thank Gustavo and CASA for the important work they are doing in communities throughout Maryland to advocate for DREAMers,” Hoyer is quoted as saying in an official release posted on his House website. “I won’t stop working until DREAMers have the protections they deserve.”
“We are glad to have allies like Congressman Hoyer at this crucial time,” Torres said at the meeting.
And just who is this Gustavo Torres character who is so grateful for having men like Steny Hoyer serving in Congress? He has been executive director at CASA since 1993. The organization, formerly called CASA de Maryland, is run by former members of the FMLN, a communist guerrilla organization founded by Fidel Castro in 1980 that targeted American military personnel in El Salvador, according to J. Michael Waller, a Latin America expert with the Center for Security Policy.
David Horowitz’s Discover the Networks website has an extensive dossier on Torres’ communist and other radical affiliations. A Colombian native, he worked for four years at a Nicaraguan newspaper published by that nation’s Marxist Sandinista regime. According to Discover the Networks, he has actively worked to spark class revolution after coming to America. “At a November 2007 ‘Revolution in the U.S.’ conference in socialist Venezuela, Torres sat on a panel that analyzed the character of America’s working class and the prospects for fomenting transformative revolution in the United States,” Discover the Networks states.
And there’s plenty more:
“Over the years, Torres has organized public rallies and events in collaboration with a number of radical, pro-open-borders groups such as the American Communist Party; the Free the Cuban Five Committee (which defended a Miami-based, KGB-trained, Castro spy ring whose activities were uncovered by the FBI in September 1998); the Washington, DC branch of the FMLN (a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary group based in El Salvador); and the Committee In Solidarity with the People of El Salvador (a radical anti-American organization founded by prominent members of the Salvadoran Communist Party).”
This is the man Steny Hoyer, the new incoming Democratic House majority leader, chooses to meet with and praise as he heralds his high-priority effort to provide amnesty for illegal aliens in the United States.
Same Old Game
On his official Democratic Whip website, Hoyer states unabashedly that he and his party are committed to passing the same tired, stale “comprehensive immigration reform” legislation that our corrupt elites on both sides of the aisle have been trying to force down the throats of the American people since the days of the McCain-Kennedy profiles in treason in the early 2000s.
Despite the seismic shift in the political landscape that followed Trump’s conquest of the White House on a robust border-security platform that resonated with the American people, Democrats have already made clear that they will not deviate from their long-held aims of bringing in and legalizing millions of illegal aliens. Steny Hoyer is stepping into his leadership post in a Democrat-controlled House committed to putting the interests of illegal aliens over those of American workers.
Oh, but don’t worry though. He has other priorities too. He’s also vowed to work with Swamp Republicans to bring back congressional earmarks so the pork can flow freely once again on Capitol Hill.
Here is your new Democratic leadership, ladies and gentlemen. Ready to go to work for everyone but the American people.
