On Tuesday, Oct. 12, Wyoming’s Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue confirmed that strangulation was 22-year-old Gabby Petito’s cause of death. While few other details were given, the doctor noted that Petito was not pregnant.
In late September, the FBI confirmed that a body found in Wyoming was Petito’s and that they were treating her death as a homicide. Since that announcement, law enforcement has been seeking Petito’s fiancé Brian Laundrie.
Laundrie was last seen by his parents in Florida roughly one month ago; a manhunt is underway predominantly in T. Mabry Carlton Reserve in Venice, FL, and Fort De Soto Park in Tierra Verde. There have been witness reports suggesting he was seen in other locations across the country, including the Appalachian Trail. An arrest warrant for Laundrie has been issued, accusing him of debit card fraud.
