On the evening of September 11, The Federal Bureau of Investigation released a document related to the terror attacks of 20 years ago on U.S. soil. The heavily-redacted 16-page document summarizes a 2015 interview with a Saudi national, Omar al-Bayoumi, who was applying for U.S. citizenship. Bayoumi described how he met two of the 9/11 hijackers by chance in 2000 and subsequently helped them find an apartment in San Diego. Bayoumi was known to the FBI and has links to the Saudi government. Most of the terrorists involved in the 9/11 attacks were from Saudi Arabia.
An attorney for the relatives of 9/11 victims, Jim Kreindler, said, “This document, together with the public evidence gathered to date, provides a blueprint for how [al Qaeda] operated inside the U.S. with the active, knowing support of the Saudi government,”
