Another Dem Gets the Mark of Shame in IL

October is quite possibly the most exhilarating – and nerve wracking – month in the lives of political operatives and those who closely follow the game. The “gotcha” moments, planned for months and executed in grand and splashily public fashion, have evil cackles of glee bubbling up from the diaphragm for 31 wonderful, surprise-laden days.

But in the crazy 2018 election cycle, only the Republicans appear to be experiencing unabashed jollity in this time of trickery. From Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) – who is now trundling up her teepee – to porn lawyer Michael Avenatti’s lawsuit loss against Trump, the Democrats are neither smiling nor smirking in the face of humiliation.

Goodness gracious I love October, as there are truly no limits to what surprises will occur, how the advocacy media might spin said surprises, and what damage the carefully released information might cause.

J.B. Pritzker

For instance, in the circling-the-drain state of Illinois, another Democrat earns the mark of shame. Meet gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker, a millionaire many times over, who is running because, “[p]rogressive values are under attack.” Oh, and he hates Trump – which is not a revelation.

His recent unwelcome surprise? He’s being sued by his own campaign staff.

Progressive Values

Current campaign staff members – nine blacks and one Latina – filed a federal lawsuit alleging that minorities on Pritzker’s staff “are herded into race-specific positions where they are expected to interact with the public, offered no meaningful chance for advancement, and receive less favorable treatment than their white counterparts.”

Those are not progressive values, candidate Pritzker.

And there is so much more to snark and giggle about if you want to delve into a legal document that reads more like a press release:

  • Sending African American and Latino field organizers, on the basis of their race, to perform racists tasks such as to, “go round up 40 Black guys” for an event.
  • Denying Latino and African American field organizers the same privileges of their white counterparts, such as telecommuting.
  • Denying Latino and African American field organizers the same access to the candidate, JB Pritzker, for the events they have planned.
  • The use of crass and racially discriminatory language.

Umm, folks, some of these complaints are simply due to the butt-hurt feelings of the participation trophy crowd.  Telecommuting field agent? No, you kind of need to be physically in the district you manage. And the candidate cannot be in two places at once, deflating the alleged “being denied access” argument. And advancement? A campaign job is temporary. Finally, if one has ever been a part of a massive campaign – let’s say a statewide, big money, gubernatorial race – everyone but the candidate and campaign manager is a plebe. No one is equal on the campaign trail. Minions are hired only to perform tasks needed. Suck it up.

Big Bucks and Safe Spaces

And, of course, they are making demands: a financial award in the amount of $7.5 million and, in addition, the hiring of a diversity officer for the campaign to oversee diversity training. Yep, they aren’t quitting, and for some inexplicable reason, it appears they want the guy to win.

But the timing is problematic – campaigns are in the final sprint to the finish line. Who has time for learning how to be a decent boss when there are palms to grease and babies to smooch?[perfectpullquote align=”right” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=”24″]Because Democrats are nuts.[/perfectpullquote]

The attorneys, Shay Allen and Jeannette Samuels, deny the timing of dropping the lawsuit just prior to voters heading to the polls. Yes, I laughed out loud as well. But as Allen told Politico, “Since this lawsuit is not politically motivated, why not file now? My clients could not wait any longer.”

Not even three weeks? Opportunistic whiners.

I’m not advocating for a racist Democrat to win the throne in Illinois. But the question remains: If these people are still enduring a racially charged working environment, so heinous they must sue to regain their self-respect, then why stay on the campaign? Because Democrats are nuts.

Crazy Democrats

Unlike the self-inflicted wounds of Fauxcahontas and Avenatti, Pritzker is now tasked with removing the many knives plunged into his broad back by a group of unhappy minority staffers who didn’t feel the love on the campaign trail. One complainant ironically claimed her hiring was to “fill a quota.” Didn’t we pass a law or some such nonsense to ensure equal hiring practices? Asking for a friend. Now imagine what she would have been inspired to do had she not been hired at all – perhaps sue because there weren’t enough black folks on the job for such an important race?

I am compelled to reiterate, I do love Autumn. And since 2016, I am especially fond of the notorious October surprises and give thanks to the chaotic, disjointed, and violently delusional Democrat Party – seemingly in the final death throw of a demented political life about to be extinguished before our very eyes. Can you hear the rattle? Cue the Vincent Price cackle.
