If you thought being called a “basket of deplorables” was bad, stop pickin’ your teeth with that piece of straw and hang on to your Bible and gun, because now my friends, the gloves are off. You’re not just deplorable anymore – you’re “stupid as shit.”
That pearl comes from CNN associate producer James Carr, who became a virtual highlight reel of pomposity overnight as the featured interview in part three of the Project Veritas (PV) investigation into American newsrooms. Aptly named American Pravda, this latest in the James O’Keefe undercover arsenal is a thing to behold. O’Keefe sent an undercover journalist into CNN who asked the following:
PV: Would be fair to question the intellect of the American voter?
CNN’s Carr: Oh no. They’re stupid as shit.
You’ve got to love when these lefties share an honest moment. That’s when they say exactly what you think they are going to say. In short – they never disappoint. Project Veritas has uncovered what most of us stupid-as-shit folk already know: CNN has been pumping up false information to raise ratings.
In Part 1 of the American Pravda series, PV asked CNN’s supervising producer, John Bonifield, why everything they’ve been talking about these past few months has been Russia … Russia … Russia, and how the country may have influenced the presidential election. Bonifield actually said he hadn’t seen any “good evidence to show the president committed a crime.” When asked, why then, focus on Russia, can you guess Bonifield’s answer?
“Our ratings are incredible right now.”
And that’s not all. Bonifield went on to explain that CNN’s CEO Jeff Sucker – I mean Zucker! – told staff in an internal meeting, after covering the climate accords for a day and a half, “But we’re done with it. Let’s get back to Russia.”
But wait – there’s more. Van Jones, a well-known left-wing commentator for CNN (you remember him – he’s the one who said in the early hours of November 9,2016 that electing Trump was a “white-lash”) Now Mr. Jones tells us, “The Russia thing is just a big nothing burger.”
Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce, but add a serving of CNN’s Bonifield to the Russia burger:
It’s mostly bullshit right now. Like, we don’t have any giant proof. Then they say, well, there’s still an investigation going on. I don’t know, if they were finding something, we would know it. The way these leaks happen, they would leak it … If it was something really good, it’d leak.”
In other words, let’s just keep spreading the propaganda because it’s good for ratings, never mind the whole ethics thing. And while we’re on the topic of ethics, Bonifield had quite an alarming point of view on journalistic ethics:
But all the nice cutesy little ethics that used to be talked about in journalism school you’re just like, that’s adorable. That’s adorable. This is a business. So they got to do what they got to do to make their money.
Even from its early days, CNN was never a highly respected news source. Those of us in the Biz never wanted to work there (the pay was awful and the network frankly seemed a little cheesy) but it was not considered a propaganda arm of the left.
Now it’s like High Noon at the O.K. Corral with folks at the cable news network dropping like flies. This week, CNN released a statement after three employees resigned in the wake of an article which had been published that was dubbed “fake news.” Isn’t this what President Donald Trump has been caterwauling about for a while now? If we had a nickel for every time the president cried “fake news,” our retirements would be set. Perhaps the president isn’t all that incorrect in his accusations after all.
This becomes evidently clear when Supervising Producer John Bonifield explained the difference in covering Trump in comparison to former President Barack Obama:
And I think that if we would have behaved that way with President Obama and scrutinized everything that he was doing with as much scrutiny as we applied to Donald Trump, I think our viewers would have been turned off.
Imagine that, Liberals getting up in arms!
And just to add a little more fuel to the fire – Trump has not been the best at praising people. Okay, let’s face it, he is quick to insult as seen in Liberty Nation’s article on Mika Brzezinski who Trump said was bleeding badly from a face-lift. Is that any worse than the following remark from Carr (yes, the same guy who said we are all stupid as shit) regarding Kellyanne Conway:
The thing that pisses the White House off so much, because we actually had that awful woman, Kellyanne Conway, you know, the blonde. She looks like she got hit with a shovel.
But I digress. PV’s undercover investigation has shown us just how far the establishment media has not-so-quietly slid into the back alley of fake news and become nothing more than a ratings whore. To be fair, Bonifield and Carr probably wouldn’t have said what they did had they known they were being recorded, but as Chris Cuomo, from CNN’s “New Day” Morning Show said, “Sometimes that’s when you’re the most honest.”
Initially one thinks – all these people must be fired – and then you realize that if everyone is fired the CNN newsroom would be stone-bone empty. And the problem with that would be…?
