If recent reports are any indication, the field of Democratic presidential candidates is about to get even more ridiculous. Apparently, it wasn’t enough to include a human gaffe machine, a new age guru, and a black man who thinks he is a Thracian gladiator.
The Democrats might have another clown to cram into their circus, and he couldn’t have come soon enough. World-class race baiter and already-failed presidential candidate Al Sharpton indicated that he might be open to throwing his hat into the center ring, and the Republican Party hasn’t been this excited since 2016.
Al Sharpton to Run Again?
In an interview with Buzzfeed – the most distrusted name in fake news – the former civil rights activists indicated that, while he is not currently exploring a run for office, he hasn’t taken it off the table. “I never rule anything out,” he said. It might seem odd that someone like Sharpton — whose chances of winning are lower than Congress’ approval numbers — would even consider entering the race. But according to insiders, he might have an ulterior motive for running.
According to Democratic operatives who did not wish to be named, Sharpton might have a personal vendetta against some of the candidates. “Sharpton may not say it publicly, but he thinks some of the candidates are low-key racist, and he’s thinking about calling it out on the stage,” a Democratic aide told Liberty Nation. “He told me they’ve got a white woman who pretended to be Indian, they got a white dude who changed his name to Beto to seem Hispanic, and some prosecutor who pretends to be black.”
The aide was referencing Kamala Harris as the prosecutor, and when we pointed out that her father is Jamaican, the aide responded: “Yeah, I know. But Sharpton doesn’t think that counts.”
As you might have guessed, the Republicans are fine with the possibility of Sharpton running. In fact, you could say they’re absolutely thrilled. “We are in full support of Mr. Sharpton’s candidacy if he chooses to run,” said Jackie Jackson, a GOP strategist. “In fact, some of us have already been seeking out venues to throw a huge party in the event that he does get into the race.”
Sharpton’s candidacy — however unlikely — would shake up the current lineup of presidential hopefuls. While he certainly will not win the nomination, supporters believe he could offer some of the other candidates some electoral advantages against President Donald Trump, especially when it comes to deceptively using racism to attack one’s opponent.
Another Democratic aide explained:
“Sharpton sees what he calls ‘these young bloods’ trying to trot out the usual race baiting talking points, but he thinks he can teach them a thing or two. This man is an old school master baiter when it comes to race, so they’d be wise to glean some pointers from him.”
Well, one can’t argue with that logic. After all, the activist has been race hustling since the ‘70s, right?
