Drowning in the Deficit Swamp – Swamponomics

Kicking off the fiscal year with a budget deficit.

The US government’s fiscal year 2023 calendar just ended, and new Treasury data show that Washington ran a multi-billion-dollar budget deficit, meaning politicians borrowed $2.1 billion per day to keep the doors of Congress open. What will the shortfall look like by the end of FY 24? Some economists estimate that it could reach close to $3 trillion.
