Once again, the Left makes it clear that double-standards are acceptable when it applies to their politics and beliefs. While they’re busy getting disjointed because a school has a name that might be considered racist (even though that school was named after a founding family) or someone sneezed during a speech, they ignore blatant and offensive attacks on conservatives and Christians, or anyone on the Right or with differing opinions.
Black Lives Matter (BLM) is a controversial movement that has caused a lot of strife. Blue Lives Matter and All Lives Matter sprouted up shortly afterward. These are acceptable slogans, but when it comes to the newest saying that’s been posted around campuses and cities nationwide, the Left is outraged.
On Halloween, an anonymous user in an online chatroom asked people to dress up in a “silly costume for anonymity” and post “It’s okay to be white” signs around schools and neighborhoods:
The post said that the signs will gain media attention and “normies” ― what white supremacists refer to white Americans as ― will realize journalists and leftists “hate white people,” leading them to “turn on them,” wrote the Huffpost. The anonymous user wrote that it would be a “massive victory for the right in the culture war” by killing media outlets’ credibility and producing more of “our guys.”
The signs did not go over well. In fact, even though there were BLM signs posted around at least one college, East Grand Rapids city commissioners condemned the signs and held a meeting on what to do with them.
“As a Jewish American this really strikes home,” said Chad Zagel, First Ward Commissioner, at the meeting. “With the kind of world that I’m trying to build for my son, I’m deeply offended, the outrage knows no bounds.”
The sign did not say “only” white lives matter, or offer any threats to anyone. It simply said it’s okay to be white. And it is, right? Or, at least, it should be. However, with so much racial tension spreading like a plague around our nation, it is uncomfortable for people no matter their nationality.
FOX 17 received a statement from Alt-Right of Michigan regarding the sign:
The purpose of these fliers was to help expose the double standard against whites in America, and the hypocrisy in the mainstream media. Groups such as the Latino Victory Party proudly claim “We Are. The Future,” meanwhile it’s deemed unacceptable to advocate for the interest of Whites. This is especially noticeable in instances such as the opioid epidemic in the US or white genocide happening in South Africa.
Another prime example of the Left’s prejudice against opposing views happened at the Catholic-based Providence College in Rhode Island. Students who felt stressed were encouraged to stab a pumpkin ingeniously named “Trumpkin” after President Donald Trump.
The Board of Multicultural Student Affairs at Providence College placed the Trumpkin in its office with a pair of scissors offered as the weapon of madness. On a chalkboard, the words “stab, stab, stab” were prominently displayed, with an evil chalk-drawn face next to it. Below that was written: “Trumpkin 2017. If you ever feel angry or stressed, feel free to stab Trumpkin!”
The Daily Wire spoke with a student who wished to remain anonymous for fear of repercussion. The student said the Trumpkin was on a prominent display so that any students or group tours walking by the office could easily see the call to violence, and was not pleased with the administration’s lack of response:
“The point I want to make is that this isn’t about a stupid pumpkin. This is about administrative hesitation to listen to the ideas and suggestions of conservative students on our campus and on campuses across this nation, and the normalization of violent attitudes against those who ask questions of authority. The ‘Trumpkin’ is just one of many stories I can tell about the double-standard set against normal students and in favor of those who devote their time to left-leaning causes.”
The student has a valid point. If the reverse were true, and there was a pumpkin in the name of Hillary Clinton that students were encouraged to “stab” if they felt stressed, you can bet the public outcry would be deafening. Feminist would line up claiming sexism; Lefties would scream foul play and call it a terrorist act. But, since it is the Left using their “freedom of speech,” in a “safe space,” because they feel too stressed and suffer from societal injustice, we are supposed to ignore this?
The Left’s way of handling disappointment and stress continues to amaze us. If they’re not planning a Screamfest to protest their frustration with the current politics, then they’re encouraging simulations of violence against the president. Can you imagine the reaction had the Trumpkin been an “Obamakin” instead?
