Illegal Immigrants and the Child Sexual Assault Epidemic

by | Feb 13, 2017 | Immigration, The Dialogue

The issue of illegal immigration is highly polarizing; the media loves to portray illegals as warm, caring individuals who love their families and want only to find a better life in the United States. One aspect of the issue that Americans cannot ignore, however, is the astronomical crime rate of illegal immigrants in the United States. Perhaps most horrifying of all are the numbers regarding sex crimes against children, committed by foreign nationals.

North Carolinians for Immigration Reform and Enforcement, a citizen’s advocacy group known as NCFIRE, keeps an ongoing monthly tally of the number of illegal aliens arrested for sexual crimes against children in North Carolina. In January 2017, for instance, twenty-one illegals were arrested for a total of forty-nine child rape and sexual assault charges – meaning that several of them committed multiple offenses. Unfortunately, January’s statistics were not a fluke.

December 2016 saw eighteen illegals arrested for forty-eight charges of sex crimes against children, and the total number for the period from May 2016 to December 2016 was one hundred thirty offenders, with five hundred six charges within the state of North Carolina alone. That’s an average of sixty-three acts against a child per month. Sixty-three times when someone hurt a child in the most horrific, emotionally scarring way possible – every month.

Perhaps even more disturbing is the fact that these numbers are lower than they were a few years ago. In December 2014 alone, there were ninety-four criminal offenders, charged with five hundred eighteen offenses. NCFIRE has all of their arrest records, where you can read the details of their cases.

Some might think that North Carolina cannot possibly be representative of the rest of the country. In reality, it is even worse elsewhere. In documents obtained from a Freedom of Information Act request by Jessica Vaughan of the New York Times in July 2015, the real scope of illegal immigrant crime became apparent. Ms. Vaughan writes that “in the first eight months [of 2014], more than 8,100 immigrant offenders who were sought by the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in sanctuary jurisdictions were released instead of turned over for deportation.”

As a direct result of this government act, some of those who were released committed an additional 4,300 offenses – including “murder, sexual assault on young children, violent rape, burglary, assault,” and more – but that’s not all. American Thinker did some fact-checking math in 2015 and found that based on the government’s numbers, illegal aliens commit roughly forty-three sex offenses every single day, many of them against children.

These figures might be difficult to grasp, but what it all comes down to is this – there is an epidemic of child sexual assaults committed by illegal immigrants in this country. Individuals who should not be here, who broke the law to get here, are assaulting children, harming them to a point that that never actually heal.

Interestingly enough, the open border narrative continues to permeate the national media. A simple web search of “illegal immigrant crime” shows a front page filled with assertions and news reports that illegal immigrants have no effect on the US crime rate. One report by the University of California even claims that immigration decreases crime. Perhaps the university should say that to the thousands of children sexually assaulted by illegal aliens every year.

There is no excuse for numbers like these.  No child should ever suffer sexual abuse, and yet the figures show very clearly that American children languish as innocent little sacrifices on the left’s altar of diversity and open borders.
